Set Up Shop: Brand It!

A message from the ACLT Team:

Thank you for your interest in our Brand It! Program. ACLT launched this program during the pandemic to help local entrepreneurs and business owners bring their businesses online. With the support of the Municipality of Anchorage, GCI, and Wells Fargo, we were able to help 65 entrepreneurs gain expertise in digital platforms and marketing, build new e-commerce sites and social media pages, get professional photography of their businesses and products, and grow their online presence and customer base.

After 3 years of operating this program as a stand-alone service, we have made the decision to restructure its offerings. So what does this mean for you? We no longer offer a cohort training program in these topics, but we DO still provide these services through our Business Services programming, and we CAN still help you bring your business online! Participating businesses will receive:

In a series of 4 classes over two weeks, businesses will learn topics such as digital marketing, e-commerce, social media presence, using branding/logos, DIY product photography, and maintaining online products.

All businesses will have the option to receive professional photography for their products, headshots of their staff, and public facing commercial locations. 

Participants may then choose ONE of the following two tracks:

Social Media Support

Businesses on this track will receive up to 10 hours of social media consulting (focused on Facebook and Instagram) and content calendar + up to 15 hours of graphic design.

Includes kickoff meeting, social media strategy document, presentation meeting, feedback on 3-5 client-drafted posts, brand questionnaire, 2 logo concepts, brand style sheet, and final packaged files.

Website Build

Businesses on this track will receive up to 15 hours of web design, services limited to certain platforms (Shopify, Wix & Square) + up to 10 hours of web copy.

Includes kickoff meeting, brand framework document, presentation meeting, 1-2 pages of website copy, brand questionnaire, Content Organization Workshop (COW), 2-3 template options, designed site, CMS training, and client handoff.

Star Assist - Doing business online

Program Eligibility

The program is open to businesses located in Anchorage. Businesses operating in, or owned by individuals who reside in, our target neighborhoods of Mountain View, Fairview, Spenard, and Muldoon will be prioritized.

Applicants must be operating legally with active state business licenses and active permits.

Applicants should be able to demonstrate what an improved web presence will help them do. The business should demonstrate they need help in at least one of the following: website, ecommerce, photography, branding, social media, or education on any of these topics.

Availability - Applicants must commit to attending classes, and continuing one-on-ones with program staff and contractors.
